Who’s David?
David is the voice behind the Our Offbeat Life Podcast and one half of the family team exploring the world together since 2019.
After an epic brainstorm in South America, David has been its driving force ever since.
How the Podcast Started
The idea for the podcast was born in Peru, while swapping travel stories with another worldschooling family.
David realized that so many families have experiences worth sharing. Stories that could help both seasoned travelers and families just beginning their journey.
Together, he and Brodi brought the idea to life, and the podcast has grown into a space for honest conversations about travel, worldschooling, and designing a life outside the ordinary.
David’s Role Today
One of his most notable interviews was with Dr. Peter Gray, whose work on self‑directed learning has influenced worldschooling families around the globe.
Life on the Road
Beyond the podcast, David is a full‑time traveler and worldschooling dad.
He was the primary driver on most of our family’s Pan‑American Highway journey: partly due to car‑permit rules, partly because he genuinely loves the open road.
David’s also the ultimate family caretaker, the one who always has snacks tucked away in a pocket or backpack; and he’s often behind the camera capturing the moments that define our travels.
