Little Passports Review: Why We Love the Subscription
This post is our Little Passports review of its subscription service. I have received no compensation from the company in exchange for this unbiased review.
My sister-in-law bought my son a monthly subscription to Little Passports for Christmas one year because she knows we enjoy traveling.
She also got him a year’s subscription to the Little Explorers package when he was three.
Unfortunately, he never got into it as a toddler like he already did just two months into this version for elementary-age kids.
It’s possible he just wasn’t ready for some of the crafty things included with the Little Explorers monthly packages, like the paint by numbers project.
He did love the seek and finds that were included each month, and still enjoys them now.
What is Little Passports?
Little Passports is a company that offers subscription-based monthly deliveries focused on travel-oriented themes.
They have different packages for children ages 3 to 5 (Early Explorers), 6 to 8 (World Edition and USA Edition), and 9+ (World and USA Editions, and Science Expeditions).
Subscriptions can be month-to-month at a more expensive per package rate. They can also paid in advance for a 6- or 12-month plan at discounted rates.
There are also some add-on products — like dolls, books and activity games that you can purchase for an additional fee. The board game looks really cute!
We would absolutely buy it for our son if we weren’t downsizing for our move later this year!
What’s in the Package?
Each level of subscription begins with the arrival of a suitcase that’s packed with a few items. Our son opened his suitcase as one of his Christmas gifts.
That counts as the first month. We’ve now received two countries of the five we will get total. The suitcase for the 6-8 year olds’ World Edition includes a wall-sized world map, luggage tag, stickers, activity booklet and welcome letter.
Throughout the rest of the subscription my son will receive additional packages for a different country each month.
These will include other fun souvenirs, activity booklets, stickers for dressing up the suitcase and map…even a recipe traditional for each country!
This weekend, my son finally decided he was ready to go through the last packet that arrived. It was for Japan and my son loved everything about it!
While he had a little trouble getting the origami folds correct on his own, we had a great time making the shapes together.
Bonus points in this Little Passports review for the creative mommy and me time we’re getting with the subscription!
My favorite thing in the monthly packet was the Tokyo travel book that had information sections on everything from food to animals.
The book was compiled by Lonely Planet, so I know it’s well-researched. We’re even considering taking it with us when we leave, for when we make it to Japan!
Conclusion: Little Passports Review
So far, the World Editions set is a big hit in our house. Our Little Passports review summary is we really like the subscription service so far.
My son even pulled out his map to teach his friend about some of the countries during a play date! We definitely need to hang that map on a wall very soon.
The activities each last about a half hour before my son is ready to move onto something else, except for the recipe. We added the ingredients for it to our grocery list, so we can try making it together soon!
